Flasheye reduces mining downtime with OnLogic rugged computers

The customer, Flasheye, a 3D LiDAR monitoring specialist, faced the challenge of processing immense amounts of data from LiDAR sensors in near real-time to help mining companies prevent costly conveyor belt downtime and safety risks. They required a rugged hardware solution capable of withstanding harsh mining environments, including extreme cold and dust, to build their LiDAR Processing Unit (LPU). They turned to vendor OnLogic for this industrial computing solution.

OnLogic provided its Karbon 400 Series rugged computers to form the core of Flasheye's LPU. This solution could handle the demanding data processing, operate reliably in extreme conditions, and was validated through OnLogic's TryLogic program. The results allowed Flasheye to efficiently deploy their monitoring system, helping mining clients identify production deviations and avoid unplanned stops. This contributed to Flasheye winning a "Best Innovative Idea" prize, and they continue to test further OnLogic hardware, like the MK200-70 Edge Server, for future expansion.
