Law Department of a Fortune 100 Energy company adopts and implements a new simplified ELM system

Exelon, a Fortune 100 energy company, sought to simplify its Enterprise Legal Management (ELM) to drive user adoption, reduce manual work, and improve spend visibility across the Legal Department. After deciding to move away from a complex legacy system, Exelon selected SimpleLegal by Onit (with implementation support from Morae) to provide a lighter-weight, cloud-based matter and billing management solution.

Onit implemented SimpleLegal by Onit, migrated legacy data, integrated with eDocs, Exterro Legal Hold and Exelon’s accounts payable, and completed extensive testing before an on-time, on-budget rollout in March 2021. The Onit solution delivered strong end-user adoption, consolidated dashboards and real-time spend visibility, automated billing guideline enforcement and accruals to improve forecasting, enabled all electronic invoice processing, and helped Exelon earn recognition at the 2022 LegalWeek Leaders in Tech Law Awards.
