Jaguar Land Rover North America’s legal department — a small team of attorneys, paralegals and a product analyst — faced slow, manual invoice processing, fragmented matter information across drives and spreadsheets, and very limited reporting. After a multi-year vendor search they selected Onit for an enterprise legal management (ELM) solution, using Onit’s configurable matter-management and e-billing apps (built on its Apptitude no‑code platform with Tableau reporting and integrations) to meet security, email-integration and workflow requirements.

Onit implemented a customized matter-management system, e-billing, a document repository, Legal Service Requests and Tableau-driven reporting, going live with e-billing on March 1, 2017. The Onit solution automated invoice processing, removed manual purchase requisitions and cover sheets, centralized matter data, and made ad‑hoc and budget-vs‑spend reports fast and granular. Early measurable results included detection of incorrect higher default billing rates (saving thousands) and a duplicated-billing error that saved over $30,000, along with significant time savings and improved oversight across the legal function.
