Colgate-Palmolive’s Global Legal Organization (GLO) needed to replace legacy Lotus Notes/Domino applications and fragmented e-billing and matter management processes while enabling internal implementation, customization, and iterative rollouts. To meet those requirements Colgate selected Onit and its ELM (e-billing and matter management) platform as a true, flexible platform solution that could support reusable components, a simple consistent UI, and attorney-preferred invoice review.

Onit configured the platform to deliver e-billing, matter management, trademark clearance workflows and marketing/vendor tracking, with grids and easy data export to support internal rollout. The Onit implementation improved transparency and knowledge sharing, increased efficiency in litigation tracking, and delivered cost avoidance related to timekeeper rate increases, with plans to expand Onit usage into vendor management, government expenditures and agreement/renewal workflows.
