A Better Way to Run Legal Operations The Enterprise Legal Management Paradigm Shift is Now

Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) was struggling with a fragmented, traditional e-billing and matter-management environment — limited to parts of the US and Europe, inconsistent and incomplete matter data entry, no single system of record to track open matters, outside‑counsel spend or company‑wide risk and reserve reporting. To address this, ADM worked with Onit to adopt an Enterprise Legal Management approach (matter management, e‑billing, automated workflows and dashboards).

Onit implemented a centralized matter-management platform with major‑matter orchestration, approval workflows, data validation and real‑time dashboards and reports, giving ADM auditable settlement processes and consolidated reserve/exposure visibility. The Onit solution produced measurable KPIs and transparency—YTD fees around $8.19M, 1,304 new matters and 2,759 open matters, plus dashboard visibility to items such as $292,384 in invoices >60 days, $2.15M pending invoices and $3.36M in settlements pending approval—while replacing manual, fragmented reporting with consistent, company‑wide processes.
