TrueCar, an online digital car buying marketplace, was struggling to scale its mission-critical Vehicle Intelligence System and keep development moving as its business grew. With a small operations team managing thousands of virtual servers in internal data centers, the company needed a faster, more flexible way to support its pricing and data platform, and it turned to Onica and AWS for help.

Onica helped TrueCar build a cloud-native big data environment on AWS using services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon Redshift, Amazon ECS, and Amazon Elasticsearch Service. The result was the ability to process more than 65 billion data pieces daily, price over 200 billion vehicle configurations each day, cut new environment setup from up to six months to 15 minutes, and anticipate a 50% reduction in operational costs by shutting down its data centers.
