A Onica Case Study

Preview of the Cal Poly Case Study

Nationally ranked university expects to save $3.5 million over three years by migrating to the AWS Cloud

Cal Poly, California Polytechnic State University, faced aging IT infrastructure and the need to expand capacity while reducing costs. To address this challenge, the university partnered with Onica and AWS for cloud migration and cloud infrastructure services to support core campus applications.

Onica helped Cal Poly move all core applications to AWS, including learning management, payroll, databases, mobile apps, data warehousing, content management, security, and student services. The migration is expected to save Cal Poly $3.5 million over three years and avoid an additional $8–10 million data center build, while enabling a more scalable, secure, and innovative operating model.
