Media Services, a leading payroll and production resource for the entertainment industry, needed help migrating its database and applications to AWS as its MediaWeb online production accounting platform grew and began experiencing slow performance and inconsistent bandwidth. The company also wanted expert guidance to better understand its software boundaries and stay aligned with strict software regulations.

Onica migrated Media Services’ infrastructure from colocation to AWS, upgraded and provisioned additional servers, and set up nightly backups to Amazon EBS snapshots and Amazon S3, with monitoring through CloudWatch and CloudCheckr. With Onica’s help, Media Services consolidated its servers to support 1,100 databases and 500 users, eliminated performance issues, and cut report generation times by 50%.
