Case Study: Smrt English achieves high availability and scalability with Onica

A Onica Case Study

Preview of the Smrt English Case Study

Delivering a secure and highly available deployment while improving performance and scalability

Smrt English, a digital English learning platform serving nearly 100,000 students worldwide, needed a more reliable way to support growing traffic and avoid outages on its AWS-hosted web platform. Working with Onica, the company set out to improve high availability, performance, and automated software configuration for its education platform.

Onica implemented a fault-tolerant AWS architecture using Amazon VPC, Amazon RDS, Amazon EC2, ELB, AWS Auto Scaling, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk, along with monitoring and an automated build process tied to the SVN repository. The result was a fully automated, scalable environment that improved uptime, handled traffic spikes, reduced infrastructure costs, and enabled faster, more agile code releases for Smrt English.
