Coast Capital Savings, Canada’s largest credit union by membership, needed to build a hybrid cloud infrastructure to support its expansion into a federal credit union and enable faster, more flexible development of digital products and services. The team wanted to use AWS, but needed help creating the right cloud foundation while keeping some systems on-premises for application and compliance reasons.

Onica helped Coast Capital Savings design and implement a phased cloud enablement strategy on AWS, including AWS tenancy, a multi-VPC architecture, access control and network security, and infrastructure automation with AWS CloudFormation and Ansible. With Onica’s support, Coast Capital Savings now runs with a cloud-native mindset, reports that 80% of net new systems are cloud-based, and has improved agility, time to market, and innovation while avoiding costly mistakes and reducing provisioning delays.
