CityGrid Media, a targeted local advertising platform, needed to modernize its infrastructure by moving from multiple data centers to AWS while migrating more than 250 applications. Onica partnered with CityGrid Media to architect the new network and support the migration, using cloud infrastructure, AWS, CloudFormation, Puppet, and Jenkins-based delivery practices.

Onica implemented a mix of full DevOps migrations for modern applications and lift-and-shift for older ones, along with infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and automated CI/CD pipelines. The result was a successful migration of 250 apps to AWS, elimination of multiple data centers and a costly hardware refresh, improved efficiency and service quality, and a future-ready architecture now supported by Onica’s Managed Cloud Services.
