BroadbandTV, one of the world’s largest entertainment networks on YouTube, needed a scalable and secure cloud infrastructure to support its content optimization products, handle big data, and protect high-availability services as its partner network grew. The company worked with Onica to build and automate a deployment environment using AWS services including Amazon VPC, Amazon ELB, Amazon RDS, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk.

Onica designed a secure, isolated virtual network, limited access to internal servers with ELB, and implemented scripted deployments that simplified operations and improved scalability. The solution also added monitoring, auto-scaling support, and cost controls using AWS spot instances and Amazon SQS workers, helping Broadband TV process around half a million YouTube videos in a few weeks at a fraction of the cost of running on large instances.
