Arthrex, a global medical device company and leading provider of orthopedic products, worked with Onica to connect its new line of endoscopic camera systems to the cloud. The challenge was to create a HIPAA-compliant hybrid architecture on AWS that could securely store patient data, synchronize information in real time across camera systems, hospital servers, EMR systems, cloud services, and mobile apps, and support better access to surgical information.

Onica implemented the Synergy Surgeon Vault using AWS CloudFormation and Chef, delivering a fully automated, self-healing cloud environment. The solution gave thousands of physicians worldwide real-time, remote access to critical surgical data and images, helping Arthrex extend patient information beyond the hospital and reinforce its position as a medical technology innovator.
