Food Connect Provides for the Hungry During Election Season

Philadelphia nonprofit Food Connect, founded by Megha Kulshreshtha, rescues surplus catered food and delivers it to local food pantries. As demand grew — culminating in the time-sensitive challenge of collecting perishables from the Democratic National Convention — the volunteer-run, paper-based workflow struggled with tracking, coordination, and turnaround times.

Food Connect implemented Onfleet’s GPS-based dispatching and delivery-management tools to automate notifications, logging, and real-time tracking. The platform simplified routing and volunteer communication, shortened delivery windows during the Convention, and provided a scalable system to support the nonprofit’s expansion across the East Coast.
