Zagrebačka Bank Secures Client Access to Online Services with Thales Authentication

Zagrebačka Banka, Croatia’s leading bank with about 1.2 million clients and a large e‑banking user base, needed to secure access to its e‑zaba online banking portal and corporate services. To prevent identity theft and fraud, enable certificate‑based digital signatures, and simplify distribution of security apps, the bank selected Thales OneWelcome and its SafeNet eToken USB Authenticator as the chosen two‑factor authentication solution.

Thales OneWelcome deployed thousands of SafeNet eToken USB Authenticators—PKI‑based USB tokens with on‑board encrypted storage—giving Zagrebačka Banka strong two‑factor authentication, digital signing, and portable encrypted storage for customers. The rollout enabled delivery of bank tools via the token instead of thousands of CDs, improved customer confidence in online transactions, reduced fraud risk, and allowed the bank to implement advanced security applications across its retail and corporate user base.
