Westcon, a Norwegian shipyard supporting roughly 700 users—including employees who connect from offshore rigs and vessels—faced frequent downtime and limited IT resources for its legacy authentication system. To move to a reliable, hosted solution, Westcon engaged Thales OneWelcome and adopted SafeNet Trusted Access to provide cloud-based, strong authentication.

Thales OneWelcome implemented SafeNet Trusted Access with support for existing hardware tokens and SMS tokens, plus automated provisioning and self-service tools. The solution preserved Westcon’s token investments, cut management overhead and helpdesk calls, and delivered 100% uptime for remote access; Westcon now secures over 120 remote users and reports lower authentication costs compared with their previous vendor.
