Innogy, part of the RWE Group, faced fragmentation from multiple brand-specific customer access platforms across European markets and needed a single, secure, GDPR-compliant identity solution to support multi-brand, multi-country and multi-language customer experiences. To address this, Innogy selected Thales OneWelcome to provide a cloud-based Consumer Identity & Access Management (IDaaS/Consumer IAM) platform.
Thales OneWelcome implemented a GDPR-by-design, API-ready Consumer IAM solution with SSO, MFA and delegated role-based access, allowing each Innogy brand to retain its own look-and-feel while centralizing identity, data protection and user management. The rollout, started in the Netherlands and scaled across several countries, delivered major efficiency gains and a lower Total Cost of Ownership—supporting over 10 million consumers across more than 5 countries and 10 brands—and established a partner model RWE has adopted organization-wide.
