Rijkwaterstaat allows multiple user groups to securely login online thanks to Thales

Rijkwaterstaat operates the National Asbestos Tracking System (LAVS) to register and track asbestos inventories, removals and inspections across five distinct user groups. Their challenge was to offer easy, secure online access for certified parties without having to manage user identities directly; Thales OneWelcome was engaged to provide the identity and access management capability.

Thales OneWelcome integrated eHerkenning-based identity verification (requiring reliability level 2 or higher) into LAVS, enabling the five user groups to log in securely and reuse credentials across other government services. The Thales OneWelcome solution removed the need for Rijkswaterstaat to run user management itself, ensured access was limited to certified parties, and supported centralized, end-to-end tracking from registration through remediation.
