NASDAQ OMX relies on Thales HSMs to deliver a cloud offering secure enough for financial services

Nasdaq built FinQloud to give financial services customers the cost and agility benefits of the cloud while meeting stringent security, privacy and regulatory mandates. To protect the cryptographic keys central to that strategy, Nasdaq selected Thales OneWelcome’s Luna Network HSMs to provide tamper‑resistant, enterprise‑grade key storage and cloud‑friendly HSM capabilities.

Thales OneWelcome deployed Luna Network HSMs to store and manage encryption keys with high availability and validated security (FIPS 140‑2 Level 3, Common Criteria EAL4+), enabling strong controls over client data encryption. As a result, FinQloud was independently audited and confirmed compliant with requirements including SEC Rule 17a‑4 and CFTC Rule 1.31, allowing Nasdaq to offer a secure, regulatory‑ready cloud platform that protects customer data while preserving cloud cost and agility benefits.
