Baloise Insurance wanted to move beyond a broker-centric model and offer direct-to-consumer digital services, but needed a mobile-first, highly secure customer identity solution with simple onboarding and support for public/social IDs while meeting strict privacy and anti‑fraud regulations. To meet these requirements, Baloise Insurance selected the cloud-based Thales OneWelcome Identity Platform as its CIAM provider.

Thales OneWelcome delivered a cloud CIAM hub that connects partner systems, apps, APIs and multiple identity providers, supporting onboarding across >5 brands and 3 user groups with a one-minute signup and single sign‑on for brokers. The platform simplified and strengthened authentication, enabled Baloise Insurance’s new B2C channel, improved the B2B partner experience, and provides a future‑proof foundation for expanding app onboarding and modernising API security using OAuth tokens.
