Hanze University of Applied Sciences, with about 27,000 students, 5,600 employees and 3,500+ guests annually, needed to speed up and automate the authorisation and revocation of temporary guest accounts that were being handled by its IT help desk. To solve this, the university chose Thales OneWelcome and its iWelcome IDaaS offering.
Thales OneWelcome implemented iWelcome IDaaS integrated with Hanze’s on‑premises identity management, allowing hosts to register guests, grant appropriate service access and define expiry windows so access is automatically revoked. The change delegated guest account management away from the IT service desk, sped up provisioning for 3,500+ annual guests, and reduced dormant accounts and licence costs while freeing IT to focus on higher‑value work.
