eHerkenning is the Dutch eID scheme that gives businesses a single standardized login token to access government services online. Faced with a legacy of parallel authentication systems that created multiple digital keys and poor user experience, eHerkenning needed a trusted broker to deliver a unified, widely adopted authentication solution — a role filled by Thales OneWelcome (iWelcome).

Thales OneWelcome implemented a centralized brokerage and authentication service that consolidated access under the eHerkenning token, simplifying login across ministries, municipalities and the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. As a result, Thales OneWelcome now processes about 70% of all eHerkenning transactions, helping drive higher adoption, smoother user experience and accelerated eBusiness and eGovernment uptake.
