VFS Global’s Journey to Implementing a Custom Privacy Program with the Full OneTrust Platform

VFS Global, the world’s largest travel visa outsourcing and technology services specialist serving 64 client governments across 144 countries and processing millions of visa applications annually, needed a centralized privacy platform to manage diverse local requirements, cut manual work, and demonstrate accountability. To meet these challenges VFS Global selected OneTrust, deploying modules including Assessment Automation, Data Mapping Automation, Cookie Consent, Data Subject Access Requests and OneTrust DataGuidance to operationalize privacy across its global operation.

Using the full OneTrust platform VFS Global built a customizable, interconnected privacy program—automating records of processing, launching DPIAs and vendor assessments via rules-based logic, standardizing cookie banners and UAT scripts, and streamlining DSAR workflows. The result was faster, more transparent responses, elimination of spreadsheet- and email-driven processes, easier cross-jurisdiction management, and a measurable ROI: OneTrust “accounts for between two to three additional staff,” while enabling VFS Global to produce DPIA reports on demand and scale privacy controls across 144 countries.
