ResMed Creates a Healthy Global Privacy Program with OneTrust

ResMed, a global medical devices and software company operating in more than 120 countries, faced mounting complexity from privacy laws like the GDPR, CCPA, LGPD and the Australian Privacy Act while managing large volumes of sensitive health data. To replace inefficient, manual processes and build a configurable, multi‑lingual global privacy program, ResMed selected OneTrust and adopted modules including Data Mapping Automation, PIA & DPIA (Assessment) Automation and Cookie Compliance (plus its Data Subject Access Request tooling).

OneTrust implemented Data Mapping as the core repository, rolled out Assessment Automation to distribute privacy questionnaires across project teams, deployed Cookie Compliance to auto-scan sites and generate branded consent banners and lists, and centralized DSAR handling in a roles‑based dashboard. The OneTrust platform now serves as ResMed’s single source of truth, streamlined cross‑functional workflows, accelerated feature delivery, and was adopted by ResMed’s security team—measurably reducing manual effort and improving accuracy in global privacy operations.
