Lottomatica Chooses OneTrust to Implement a Customer-Centric Privacy Program

Lottomatica, part of the IGT group and Italy’s gaming leader operating online services and a network of over 90,000 points of sale, faced the challenge of applying GDPR and the Italian Privacy Code across a complex, rapidly evolving ecosystem that processes data for millions of people and tens of billions of transactions annually. In 2018 Lottomatica selected OneTrust (using Assessment Automation and Data Mapping) to help the DPO, Giovanni Del Lungo, lead and coordinate privacy activities across multiple business units and control functions.

OneTrust implemented a single, easy‑to‑use platform to centralize data mapping, automate assessments and give more than 20 teams simultaneous access to manage privacy tasks, collaborate and share updated content. The deployment reduced the need for costly consulting during business changes, improved cross‑functional communication and accountability, supported privacy‑by‑design across product lifecycles, and enabled Lottomatica to operationalize GDPR at scale; the company is now expanding to OneTrust’s third‑party risk management for full supply‑chain visibility.
