Supercharging digital government services with e-signatures

The State of Michigan faced slow, decentralized paper-based signature processes that became impractical when remote work surged during the COVID-19 pandemic. To enable secure, remote signing and streamline government workflows, the State of Michigan adopted OneSpan’s e-signature solution.

OneSpan deployed a cloud-based e-signature platform alongside a service charter, internal marketing, brief virtual trainings, and a help desk to drive adoption across agencies. In the first nine months the system processed more than 9,600 transactions and was used by at least 15 departments (including Central Procurement), producing measurable mailing and labor cost savings, faster “speed-to-sign,” auditable PDF verification trails, and stronger business continuity. OneSpan’s solution accelerated digital services and improved operational resilience for the State of Michigan.
