Navy Federal Credit Union’s Clever Approach to Digital Business Banking

Navy Federal Credit Union (Navy Federal Business Solutions), the world’s largest credit union serving 10 million members and over 200,000 business members, needed to rapidly scale remote services during the COVID‑19 pandemic to support the SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Already running nCino on Salesforce for commercial lending, NFCU leveraged the pre‑integrated OneSpan Sign for nCino e‑signature connector from vendor OneSpan to digitize closing documentation and accelerate digital onboarding.

Working with OneSpan and nCino, NFCU built an end‑to‑end digital PPP lending experience in six weeks (phased 2.5 + 3.5 weeks), integrating with the SBA portal, internal servicing systems and activating OneSpan Sign to capture e‑signatures. The results were dramatic: volumes rose from about 150 business loans per month to 1,000 in the first week, 10,000 new members in 30 days, new active accounts ready in 24 hours, and average time from application to funding reduced to 3.5 days.
