Riyad Bank, one of Saudi Arabia’s largest financial institutions, needed to secure its RiyadOnline e‑banking for both retail and corporate customers against rising internet fraud (phishing, keylogging, social engineering) while keeping the service usable and flexible. The bank partnered with OneSpan and deployed OneSpan’s Digipass authentication devices (Digipass Go 3, Digipass 260/300) together with the OneSpan Authentication Server Framework.
OneSpan implemented a two‑factor authentication solution—SMS for retail and Digipass one‑time passwords with PIN‑protected tokens for corporate users—integrating quickly with the bank’s existing infrastructure. The result: transaction dispute complaints “ceased overnight,” customer confidence and online adoption increased, helpdesk and claims costs fell, and Riyad Bank gained new customers, demonstrating OneSpan’s solution as a clear competitive advantage.
