Leading Bank in Sweden Helps Prevent Social Engineering Attacks with OneSpan

Swedbank, a leading bank in Sweden, faced rising social engineering and trojan/man-in-the-browser threats targeting online and mobile banking. To protect account access and transactions while improving the customer experience, Swedbank selected OneSpan and its Cronto solution.

OneSpan delivered Cronto (via hardware tokens or a mobile app) to roughly one million Swedbank customers, using a patented visual transaction-signing flow where customers scan and enter an eight‑digit code to sign transactions. The OneSpan solution prevents transaction details from being altered by hackers, strengthens fraud protection, streamlines login and transaction signing, and helps Swedbank meet PSD2 authentication and dynamic linking requirements.
