Gillons Insurance Brokers, an eleven-branch, 103-employee brokerage serving northwestern Ontario, faced slow, paper-heavy workflows after its 2015 merger—typical home or auto contracts ran 20+ pages with multiple signature points and many clients live long distances from branches. To speed up new business and reduce time spent chasing signatures, Gillons adopted OneSpan’s e-signature solution, OneSpan Sign (Professional Edition), chosen for IBAO approval and Canadian data residency.
OneSpan implemented click-to-sign links, face-to-face signature capture, a visual audit trail, and integration with Gillons’ SigXP broker management system, with data hosted in Toronto/Montreal. The result: about 90% of new business is now signed electronically, turnaround for collecting signatures fell from up to a week to about one day, administrative workload dropped by roughly one full-time equivalent, and insurers, brokers and clients widely accepted the new process. OneSpan’s solution also let Gillons extend e-signature efficiency to internal workflows while meeting compliance needs.
