They switched to OneSignal to handle web and mobile push notifications, using OneSignal’s API and dashboard to rebuild their re-engagement strategy.

OneSignal provided a unified web and mobile notifications interface plus performance metrics, enabling Product Hunt to send personalized, automatically targeted alerts (e.g., mentions, new followers, trending products) and evaluate which messages performed best. As a result, Product Hunt combined push with email to double reengagement, with push driving a comparable number of sessions back to the site as email and social channels.
