Case Study: Curtsy (women’s clothing resale app) achieves scalable mobile‑first engagement with OneSignal

A OneSignal Case Study

Curtsy Builds a Multichannel Communication Strategy fit for a Mobile-First Company

Curtsy, a San Francisco–based mobile-first women's clothing resale app, needed a reliable multichannel messaging strategy to support casual sellers and a high-volume mobile experience. They selected OneSignal to power transactional push notifications, in-app messaging, and SMS so users receive order tracking, shipping prompts, messages and recommendations across the app — a flow that can require 20–30 messages to complete a single transaction.

OneSignal supplied push, in‑app triggers, Data Tags and Intelligent Delivery, and — after Curtsy’s feedback — built a message throttling feature to limit sends per minute. That solution prevented server overload during promotions, allowed scheduled promotional sends (replacing fragile scripts), freed up engineering time, and drove measurable gains: app‑wide sales notifications produced substantial uplifts in clicks, conversions and engagement, while SMS and in‑app automation improved order support, retention and lifetime value.
