Check City Tests Their Way to the Right Push Notifications Provider

Check City, a short-term lender with hundreds of thousands of customers across 65 US locations, wanted to add web push notifications to its marketing mix but found its first provider imposed 15-minute scheduling limits and experienced sending delays up to an hour—causing low CTRs and potential compliance risks. The move produced measurable gains: click-through rates rose from 0.11% to 0.48% (a 336% increase), Check City achieved similar click volume with far fewer sends compared to the competitor, conversion rates remained strong (~4.46% vs. 4.21%), and sending delays were eliminated—leading Check City to migrate fully to OneSignal and adopt features like Category Opt In and Advanced Analytics.
