The Dominion, one of Canada’s largest property and casualty insurers, selected OneShield and its OneShield Policy solution to modernize core systems and consolidate three legacy policy platforms. The Dominion faced heavy manual processes, extensive paper exchanges with brokers, fragmented policy management and the need to improve responsiveness and operational excellence for its independent broker network.

OneShield implemented OneShield Policy to automate data entry and workflows, enable straight-through processing, and integrate with print, claims, billing and reporting systems. As a result, The Dominion retired legacy systems, sped issuance so 50% of business is completed same-day, reduced submission review from weeks to eight days, automated policy printing, enabled real-time underwriter approvals (cutting overnight batch delays), and cut complex multi-change transactions from an estimated 41 days to about 20 minutes — with referrals to underwriters reduced to roughly 50%.
