With Agfin Benefits Account, Agfin MFI expands the bouquet of services offered by its field officers to small scale retailers and micro-entrepreneurs in the South-West of Nigeria

Agfin, a microfinance institution in South-West Nigeria, needed a better way to serve small-scale retailers and micro-entrepreneurs who relied on field officers for cash pickups, savings record keeping, payments, and short-term credit. Working with OnePipe and its banking/lending APIs, Agfin looked to digitize these everyday financial interactions and expand the services its field officers could offer.

OnePipe implemented the Agfin Benefits Account using its Grassroots Banking platform, giving field officers and customers access through USSD and a conversational interface. The solution enabled direct deposits, savings plans, digital transfers, airtime/data sales, and API-driven credit underwriting from partner lenders, helping Agfin deepen financial inclusion while creating new revenue streams for field officers and supporting access to loans and insurance for previously excluded customers.
