Vision Critical Extends Microsoft Active Directory to Cloud Applications, Increasing Security and Employee Productivity

Vision Critical, a software company serving more than 600 clients worldwide with offices across North America, Europe, Australia and Hong Kong, needed a simpler way to manage employee access to about a dozen SaaS applications. IT was manually handling passwords and wanted to extend Active Directory controls to cloud apps so users had a single, consistent path to their tools and admins could provision and de-provision access quickly and securely.

In June 2011 Vision Critical deployed OneLogin to extend AD to the cloud, using group-based single sign-on and a secure portal that authenticates apps like ShareFile, Salesforce and Marketo via AD groups. The change removed individual password management, delivered one-click access for employees, cut password-related helpdesk work, and let IT instantly revoke access when staff leave—improving security and productivity.
