University Increases Security, Enables Self-Service and Seamless User Experience

The University of Mary Hardin–Baylor (UMHB), a central Texas institution serving about 30,000 people (4,000 students, 500 faculty/staff and 25,000 alumni/prospective users), faced growing user confusion from many apps with different credentials and the added disruption of their SSO provider going out of business. UMHB needed a seamless SAML-based single sign-on and simpler credential management while integrating hosted services like Canvas and cloud suites without stranding users during a migration.

UMHB chose OneLogin for its included two-factor authentication, easy-to-configure SAML toolkit for custom apps, and provisioning/one-click connectors for G Suite and Office 365. The result: faster app deployments from a shared catalog, self-service tools built on OneLogin’s APIs that reduced help desk workload, smoother user experience across systems, and stronger overall security through unified authentication.
