San José Unified School District, serving about 36,000 students, faculty and staff across 40+ sites, faced constant user churn, low tech familiarity and the need to manage accounts for students who don’t have district email. The district needed a solution that integrated with Active Directory and could provision large numbers of users quickly while minimizing help-desk load and password headaches.
SJUSD implemented OneLogin with Box, using AD-driven provisioning, ADC change notifications, SAML and form-fill connectors, plus a custom branded portal with preloaded apps (Box, Google Drive/Classroom, Qualtrics, etc.). The result: faster app rollouts and onboarding, significantly reduced user/password management, more IT time for strategic work, improved self-service for users and a secure, intuitive experience that keeps faculty and students focused on learning.
