Private School Simplifies SSO and Reduces Parent Login Problems

The Glennie School, a private K–12 girls’ school in Toowoomba, Australia with about 2,000 staff, students and parents, needed to simplify access during a migration to Google sites and Drive. The IT team faced fragmented SSO standards across many apps and frequent “permission denied” errors for parents who were signed into personal Google accounts, creating support overhead and a poor user experience.

Glennie selected OneLogin, using its browser extension to create custom SSO connectors for legacy apps, launch app links to automatically sign parents into school Google accounts, and an “Assuming Users” feature for secure troubleshooting. The result was faster, simplified access from a single portal, reduced parent support calls, broader adoption across the community, and 70 apps (including Office 365 and Google Apps) successfully configured with tailored app views for different user groups.
