Pearson Education Confidently Pursues Growth on PearsonAccess with OneLogin Customer Identity and Access Management

Pearson, the global learning company, built PearsonAccess on AWS to manage end-to-end K–12 testing for state, district, and school users. The project needed a customer identity and access management (CIAM) solution that could scale from hundreds of thousands to millions of users, support each district’s preferred authentication systems (Active Directory, IDP/SSO, custom), allow centralized administration and auditing, and enable branded login experiences — all on a tight timeline to support spring testing.

After pilot testing Amazon Cognito and other vendors, Pearson chose OneLogin CIAM for its enterprise-grade reliability, scale, and support for SAML, OpenID Connect, OAuth and multiple identity providers. Deployed in December, OneLogin’s features (user import/export, attribute/role mappings, just-in-time access and policy controls) enabled seamless SSO for students, teachers and administrators, met security and admin needs, and gave Pearson the confidence and foundation to onboard millions of users and pursue new business opportunities.
