Florida College Implements Multi-Factor Authentication for Almost One Million Users

Broward College, a Fort Lauderdale institution serving about 63,000 students and 5,000 faculty and staff, faced an outdated, high-touch Active Directory–based access system that required manual provisioning and was error-prone. CIO Tony Casciotta needed a scalable access management platform with automated provisioning/deprovisioning, self-service password reset, single sign-on (SSO), multi‑factor authentication (MFA), and seamless Workday integration to secure and simplify access for over three-quarters of a million users.

The college chose OneLogin for its SSO portal, password management, policy-driven MFA, and Workday partnership, enabling automated user lifecycle management and fast deployment. The solution gave users one set of credentials for cloud and on‑prem apps, boosted productivity, tightened access controls for sensitive applications, and was adopted easily by staff and students.
