University of Bedfordshire - Customer Case Study

The University of Bedfordshire, a five‑campus institution serving 20,000 staff and students, needed to consolidate standalone displays into a unified, scalable digital signage network that preserved corporate branding and allowed locally targeted content across 17 departments. To meet this challenge they engaged ONELAN to network existing installations and support future expansion tied to a £35 million new campus centre.

ONELAN implemented Net‑Top‑Boxes (NTBs) — one main publisher plus 17 Century 610 subscriber NTBs — and an Omni‑Server to deliver zoned layouts, scheduling, live TV (BBC/Sky), RSS/XML feeds and easy content authoring for non‑technical staff. The deployment reached the intended 20,000 audience, integrated smoothly with the university network without extra RF cabling, enabled department‑specific messaging, and has received positive staff feedback while remaining scalable for further rollout.
