Library of Birmingham Rewrites the Book with ONELAN

The Library of Birmingham needed to combine its 400,000 publicly available books and assets with interactive, accessible technology and position itself as a regional events hub (in partnership with the REP Theatre). After a consultancy-led selection process managed by Vanti, ONELAN digital signage was chosen to deliver a centrally managed system that could disseminate activity and event information and support visitor interaction throughout the building.

ONELAN supplied a networked signage solution including a large foyer video wall and a Digital Gallery made up of 22 thin‑bezel screens, on-screen interactive wayfinding, and preloaded holding content for opening. The system was integrated with the Building Management and fire alarm systems so audio mutes across nine defined fire zones during alarms, and Vanti provided content strategy and training. The result: streamlined visitor communications, enhanced event promotion and wayfinding, and a satisfied Library of Birmingham with visibly engaging displays from day one.
