Case Study: Wakefield & District Housing (WDH) achieves eye-catching, centrally managed digital signage and faster updates across 16 sites with ONELAN Digital Signage

A ONELAN Case Study

Preview of the WDH Case Study

Housing Authority uses ONELAN Digital Signage

WDH (Wakefield & District Housing) needed a more effective way to communicate housing messages and local information across 16 foyer and reception areas. Their existing looping PowerPoint displays were repetitive, made little impact on audiences, and required multiple departments and custom ICT code (sometimes up to six hours’ work) to update, leaving expensive plasma screens underused. To address this, WDH worked with Smarter Solutions to deploy ONELAN digital signage—specifically the ONELAN Net-Top-Box (NTB 3305).

The ONELAN solution provided remote-controlled, permission-based content management so Corporate Services could update site-by-site without ICT involvement, while ICT retained remote admin and monitoring. Displays became live and multi-format (video, tickertape, PowerPoint, breaking news), were rolled out to all 16 locations, and the system was installed and staff-trained in under four weeks. ONELAN’s deployment improved ROI by making screens an effective information channel, enabling simultaneous, up-to-date messaging across all sites and significantly reducing ICT resource demands.
