Dental Health Arlington, a nonprofit providing dental care to low-income individuals and families, faced the challenge of converting its long-running "Love That Smiles" gala into a safe, engaging fundraiser during the COVID-19 pandemic while still raising essential funds and connecting donors both in-person and online. To do this, Dental Health Arlington partnered with OneCause and used OneCause’s Mobile Bidding to give supporters an easy, anytime/anywhere giving and bidding experience.
Dental Health Arlington executed a hybrid event—a small, ventilated in-person gathering at an airplane hangar combined with a streamed program featuring local celebrities, videos, and interactive entertainment—backed by AV production, a clear timeline, committee-led social engagement, and OneCause’s Mobile Bidding. The result: 295 silent-auction bids, 700 virtual viewers (26 in person), 100% sponsor retention, and $41K in net proceeds, prompting the organization to adopt hybrid events going forward.
