How Sherwood Forest Brought Their Virtual Gala & Mission to Life

Sherwood Forest, a year‑round youth development organization serving children from low‑income families, had to pivot its 19th annual Blue Jean Ball to a virtual format when COVID‑19 prevented an in‑person gala. To maintain donor engagement and run auctions and appeals online, Sherwood Forest partnered with OneCause and used the OneCause Virtual Event Manager to power their online auction, livestream and donation appeals.

Using OneCause Virtual Event Manager, Sherwood Forest produced a telethon‑style two‑hour livestream with pre‑recorded videos, live interviews, a virtual paddle raise, targeted phone outreach and a silent auction. The campaign drove 92 auction items with 511 bids (5.7 bids per item), 65 donations from 338 supporters, $17K in silent auction revenue, $109K in online donations and $180K total raised online — outcomes enabled by OneCause’s virtual event and fundraising tools.
