How Mission-Focused Gamification Fueled Virtual Peer-to-Peer Success

Dream On 3, a nonprofit that creates sports-themed VIP experiences for youth with life-altering conditions, faced the loss of its in-person annual gala due to COVID-19 and had limited peer-to-peer fundraising experience. To keep their mission alive they turned to OneCause, leveraging OneCause Peer-to-Peer (and their prior experience with OneCause Mobile Bidding) to pivot quickly to a virtual Stronger Tomorrow 5K.

Using OneCause, Dream On 3 launched the campaign in under three weeks with mission-driven Dream Kid Challenges, a points-based competition and leaderboards, and team fundraising features to drive engagement. The OneCause platform helped the campaign achieve 156 participants, 20 teams, 288 donations and reach 148% of goal, expand donor geography beyond their region, and led Dream On 3 to permanently add DIY peer-to-peer fundraising to their website.
