Well Aware, an Austin-based nonprofit behind the annual Shower Strike peer-to-peer campaign, faced the common challenge of participant turnover and the need for year-over-year growth. In 2015 they moved their campaign onto the OneCause Peer-to-Peer platform to access new engagement tools and better organize competitive, team-based fundraising.
Leveraging OneCause features — Leagues (three-level group organization), team leaderboards, matching-gift automation and Mailchimp integration — Well Aware scaled corporate and school teams and personalized outreach. On OneCause from 2015–2019 they achieved 191% growth in participants (110→320), 111% more teams (26→55), 301% growth in team members (71→285), a 163% increase in funds raised versus 2015 and $920,000 raised on the platform since 2016, with matching gifts contributing over $100,000. OneCause’s tools directly enabled this measurable growth and sustained campaign momentum.
