Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington faced the challenge of converting its annual Blue Fest fundraiser to a virtual format during COVID-19 while keeping mission-centered programming and donor engagement across 15 sites. Having previously used OneCause for mobile bidding, the development team needed a solution to replicate their silent auction, live appeal, and event experience online and stand out among many virtual fundraisers.
By using the OneCause Mobile Bidding product and OneCause Giving Center, BGCGW ran a three-day virtual Blue Fest with custom daily pages, pre-event “Blue Box” packs, social/email outreach, and a livestream night with Fund‑A‑Need and a live appeal. OneCause’s platform and support enabled instant mobile bidding, outbid notifications, and streamlined giving, producing measurable results: 500+ livestream attendees, 110% of silent auction value, 6.11 bids per item, 173% of the live appeal goal, and $150,896 raised.
