How Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County Pivoted to Virtual Bowling
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County, which has provided youth mentoring since 1966, needed to quickly adapt its Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser to a virtual format because of social distancing. The organization used OneCause and its peer-to-peer fundraising platform to keep participants engaged online while continuing to support its mission.
OneCause helped Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County launch a virtual campaign with weekly activity and fundraising challenges, Facebook Live events, leaderboards, contests, and social sharing tools. The effort generated 284 participants across 54 teams, 787 donations, and about $130,000 in online donations, reaching 108% of goal.
